## Description

Chingay is Singapore's iconic annual event that celebrates the country's rich multi-ethnic and cosmopolitan cultures. Originating as a street parade in 1973 to mark Chinese New Year, Chingay has evolved into one of Asia's largest street performance and float parades. Founded by the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the event features vibrant performers in elaborate costumes, dazzling floats, intricate props, and cultural performances from around the world.

Over the years, Chingay has celebrated significant milestones, including a multicultural showcase in 1976 and the introduction of international elements in 1987. The event has continued to grow, with notable highlights such as the Waterway Parade of Love and Care in 2012 and the first-ever digital showcase in 2021.

Chingay stands as a testament to Singapore's harmonious multicultural society, welcoming people of all backgrounds to come together and celebrate as one. Join us for a spectacular display of colors and cultural diversity at Chingay 2024.
