## Description

Chiroptera provides bat surveys and related mitigation services in Aalborg, supporting planning and construction projects that may affect bats or their habitats. Its work covers local plans, environmental impact assessments, demolition permits, tree felling and other cases requiring assessment for authorities. Because bats and their breeding and resting places are legally protected, surveys may be needed before buildings are demolished or trees are felled.

Chiroptera uses stationary and handheld ultrasonic detectors to record bat calls, then analyzes the recordings to identify species and describe their activity. Surveys may also use infrared video and powerful LED lighting. Field inspections look for possible entry points and signs of bats in buildings, as well as cavities, cracks and loose bark in trees. Where bats are present, Chiroptera can carry out their exclusion before work proceeds and establish replacement roosting sites.
