## Description

Chīsana Kyokushin Dōjō New Zealand – Napier Karate Club is a female-led dojo offering Kyokushin karate in a friendly, supportive community. It welcomes students from age eight through senior adulthood, including beginners and experienced practitioners, and tailors training to individual needs and abilities. Mixed classes develop the physical and mental aspects of karate, including kata (forms), kumite (sparring), fitness, focus, discipline, and confidence.

The club prepares students for kata and kumite competitions and holds gradings where they can demonstrate progress in technique, fitness, and spirit. Training also includes practical self-defence skills, such as punches, kicks, and ways to escape grabs and holds, alongside awareness and confidence-building. For more focused development, the dojo offers one-on-one coaching in kata and kumite for personal goals or competition preparation.

Its instructors are Japanese-certified Nidan black belts, police vetted, and hold current first aid certificates; they have also earned medals in kata and kumite competitions.
