## Description

Center for Health Justice (CHJ) is a community-based organization in downtown Los Angeles serving people impacted by incarceration and other historically marginalized communities across Los Angeles County. For more than 20 years, it has delivered evidence-based programs to currently and formerly incarcerated youth and adults, focusing on practical support, health education, and connections to services.

Through the Sheila & Stan Price Reentry Center, located a few blocks from Men’s Central Jail and Twin Towers Correctional Facility, community members can access essential supplies and referrals to community resources. CHJ also acts as a bridge organization, connecting clients with services across Los Angeles County that can address their specific needs. Community partnerships help support this work.

Within correctional facilities, CHJ provides health education and support, including HIV/AIDS prevention and education courses, as well as substance use and addiction counseling. The organization describes its focus on health education within correctional facilities as unique in Los Angeles County. Its programs and resource connections support people as they seek assistance during and after incarceration.
