## Description

CHORTHO Cares Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children with orthopedic conditions and strengthening youth sports in local communities. Based in St. Petersburg, Florida, the organization works to advance pediatric orthopedic care through research, education, prevention initiatives, and support for families.

Its programs fund research and provide mentorship and networking opportunities for medical students, residents, fellows, surgeons, and scientists. CHORTHO Cares also supports surgical skills labs and training sessions, including casting and splinting education for medical professionals. Through an application and approval process, it helps eligible uninsured or underinsured children access orthopedic diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and follow-up care through affiliated providers and hospitals in the Tampa Bay area.

The organization’s grants, scholarships, and sports programs support youth athletics, including team care, high school sports coverage, athletic trainer grants, and school sports scholarships. Donations help fund these initiatives, expand access to specialized care, and provide educational resources for healthcare professionals, coaches, and athletic trainers.
