## Description

The Chris Langan Traditional Irish Music Weekend is an annual Toronto festival celebrating traditional Irish music and the community that sustains it. Organized by the Chris Langan Irish Music Association Inc., the event brings together artists and teachers from around the world and from Toronto for concerts, workshops, and informal music sessions. The 2026 weekend runs from May 22 to 24, with uilleann piper Mickey Dunne, fiddler Sorcha Costello, and accordionist Danny O’Mahony as hosts, alongside local musicians. Activities include a welcome concert and sessions, Saturday workshops and a gala concert at the Tranzac Club, and The Piper’s Chair gathering at Noonan’s Pub on Sunday. The festival offers opportunities to learn from experienced teachers, hear live performances, and share in Toronto’s vibrant traditional Irish music scene. It has been running successfully for more than 30 years. Named in memory of Chris Langan, the weekend honors his work as a mentor, teacher, craftsman, and advocate for Irish arts in Toronto and Ireland.
