## Description

Christchurch Model Train Show is a New Zealand model railway event presented by the Christchurch Model Railway Exhibition Trust. Held over two days at Cowles Stadium in Christchurch, the 2026 show takes place on 3 and 4 October, bringing together enthusiasts, families, traders and exhibitors for a celebration of miniature railways. Visitors can explore more than 20 live layouts featuring a range of scales, railway styles and modelling techniques, including New Zealand prototypes, vintage models, scratch-built scenery, sound and lighting effects, and live steam. More than 15 traders and vendors offer model railway equipment, starter sets, rare finds and parts, with opportunities to meet modellers and learn about their craft. The event also includes a free children’s colouring competition, with free admission for children who enter. Tickets are available at the door, and entry prices include adult, child and family options; EFTPOS and cash are accepted. Cowles Stadium offers free on-site parking. Clubs and vendors can apply to exhibit or trade at the show.
