The Clinical HIV Research Unit (CHRU) is actively contributing to global efforts to combat HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and HIV-associated cancers. Operating across four sites in South Africa, specifically in the Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and Eastern Cape provinces, CHRU is home to a multi-disciplinary team of experts making significant scientific contributions in this field. Located in Johannesburg and operating as a division of the Wits Health Consortium, CHRU conducts ground-breaking clinical trials and research to prevent, treat, and manage HIV/AIDS, TB, and associated diseases. Affiliated with the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) and backed by the Faculty of Health Sciences, CHRU strives for excellence and quality in clinical research.
