## Description

The Jeon Tae-il Foundation, named after the pivotal figure in South Korea's labor movement, is dedicated to honoring the legacy and spirit of Jeon Tae-il—a courageous young worker who self-immolated in 1970 to advocate for labor rights and improved working conditions. Established to transform the grim realities faced by workers in the Cheonggyecheon Peace Market, the foundation supports various initiatives aimed at empowering marginalized laborers, including non-regular workers, subcontracted employees, and young laborers. The foundation's activities encompass labor rights education, memorial services for Jeon Tae-il and his mother, Lee So-sun, and scholarships like the Jeon Tae-il Literary Prize. Furthermore, the foundation conducts ongoing advocacy and support for vulnerable worker groups and social activists. With its headquarters located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, the foundation fosters a commitment to justice and solidarity, reinforcing the idea that everyone has the right to a fair share of their hard work. Join the Jeon Tae-il Foundation in its mission to elevate labor rights and enhance societal equity.
