## Description

The Centro Informático Científico de Andalucía (CICA) is a public scientific computing centre serving the research community of Andalusia. Established in 1989, it currently depends on the Agencia Digital de Andalucía, within the Junta de Andalucía’s Consejería de Inteligencia Artificial, Desarrollo Digital y Administración Pública. CICA provides digital infrastructure and technical services intended to support scientific research and collaboration among universities, research centres and other connected institutions.

Its RICA network offers connectivity services including global internet access, remote access through VPN, Eduroam, academic and research intranet access, multicast, DNS, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, and time synchronisation. Network operations and security support include incident management and technical advice. CICA also provides supercomputing resources, with the Hércules supercomputer highlighted in its news, alongside software libre services, GNU/Linux and Guadalinex mirrors, and hosting and accommodation. Its eCiencia offerings include repositories, collaborative resources, and services for initiatives such as Fundación Descubre and DISEVEN classrooms. Through this combination of computing, connectivity, hosting and support, CICA helps Andalusian institutions access resources for research and scientific exchange.
