## Description

CIFA de l’Yonne is an apprenticeship and vocational training centre based in Auxerre, France. Established in 1975, it connects education with the workplace to help young people and adults develop professional skills and pursue career qualifications. The centre offers 34 paid, qualifying and diploma programmes, from CAP to BTS, alongside continuing training. Its courses cover five main fields: hairdressing and beauty, commerce and business management, mechanics, hospitality and catering, and food trades such as baking, pastry-making, butchery and delicatessen work. Training combines classroom learning with practical experience in purpose-built facilities, including automotive workshops, a virtual retail space, bakeries, a butcher’s tasting area, a restaurant and brasserie, a hair salon and a beauty institute. CIFA also uses digital learning resources and supports collaboration among learners, employers and the centre. Its professional practice venues serve customers by appointment or reservation, giving learners opportunities to work in realistic settings. CIFA presents excellence, modern equipment and close ties to employers as central to preparing learners for their chosen professions.
