## Description

The Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT) is an Indian fisheries research institute focused on advancing technology across the fisheries and seafood sectors. Its work spans fishing technology, fish processing, quality assurance, biochemistry and nutrition, microbiology and biotechnology, engineering, and fisheries extension. Research centres in Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, and Veraval complement its headquarters in Kochi.

ICAR-CIFT develops and transfers technologies for fishing, processing, preservation, transportation, quality testing, and the use of seafood by-products.
