## Description

CIS-Caparaó is an intermunicipal, multisectoral consortium serving municipalities in the region surrounding Caparaó, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It works with local governments to coordinate shared services, improve access to public programs, and support regional needs. In health care, the consortium arranges specialized consultations, diagnostic imaging, minor surgical procedures, and other medium-complexity services through accredited professionals. It also supports patient transfers, including transport for people traveling to appointments and examinations through Transporta SUS, and offers patient removal by mobile intensive care unit.

Beyond health services, CIS-Caparaó helps member municipalities maintain public lighting systems and supports the management, treatment, and final disposal of solid waste. Through FarmaCIS, it manages the supply of basic medicines in partnership with the Minas Gerais State Health Department, helping organize distribution and procurement for participating municipalities. The consortium also provides information about its governance, contracts, public spending, procurement, and services through its transparency channels. Based in Mutum, CIS-Caparaó brings municipalities together to manage regional services and resources collaboratively.
