## Description

CISCEL, the Intermunicipal Health Consortium of Centro Leste, is a public health partnership based in Itabira, Minas Gerais. Established in 1996 and active since 1997, it brings together 13 municipalities to coordinate access to essential and specialized healthcare through Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS). Residents access services through referrals from participating municipal health departments.

CISCEL provides specialized medical consultations, elective and ophthalmological surgeries, dental care, and complementary examinations. Its services also include patient transport by mobile intensive care unit and basic ambulance, helping people reach consultations and treatment. Regional initiatives extend its work: Vacimóvel delivers itinerant vaccination; Transporta SUS offers free transport for SUS appointments and treatment; and VisaCis supports shared municipal health surveillance. The consortium also promotes vaccination awareness and works on vector control in critical areas.

Guided by humanized care, ethics, quality, safety, cooperation, and transparency, CISCEL aims to strengthen regional public health through shared management. It publishes administrative, financial, and procurement information through its transparency portal and serves municipalities across the Centro Leste micro-region.
