## Description

Ceza İnfaz Sisteminde Sivil Toplum Derneği (CİSST) is a nonprofit organization established in 2006 with the aim of protecting the rights and freedoms of prisoners in the prison system, which is one of the most high-risk environments in terms of human rights violations. They work to ensure that prisons comply with international human rights standards and respect human dignity in terms of rights, conditions, and practices. CİSST engages in various activities, projects, and events to fulfill their objectives. They offer counseling services to prisoners and their families through their Helpline, providing support and guidance. The organization also conducts research, publishes books, reports, and articles related to the prison system, translating important works into Turkish. Additionally, CİSST actively collects and shares statistics about prisons in Turkey, shedding light on the number of prisoners, their demographics, and the conditions they face. They advocate for the improvement of prison conditions, education opportunities for prisoners, and adequate healthcare. Through their efforts, CİSST strives to create awareness and foster positive change within the criminal justice system.
