Cité du Temps is a watchmaking and cultural destination in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, the city known as the world’s watchmaking capital. Operated by Cité du Temps SA under the leadership of The Swatch Group Ltd, it brings together the contrasting worlds of Swatch and OMEGA in one place. The venue houses two independent museum experiences: the OMEGA Museum and Planet Swatch. Through interactive technologies, films, displays, designs, artworks and experiences, visitors can explore the brands’ histories and their past, present and future. The OMEGA Museum presents the story of the Swiss brand, while Planet Swatch offers an imaginative journey through Swatch time. Designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, the building sits between OMEGA’s historic buildings and the Swatch headquarters. Cité du Temps welcomes individual visitors, families, groups and school classes, with admission free for all listed age and visitor categories. Group visits can be requested in advance, subject to availability. The venue also provides visitor information, directions and facilities such as free coat checks and lockers.
