City Kids Wilderness Project is a nonprofit organization that provides enriching life experiences for youth in Washington, DC. Through their long-term youth engagement program, they aim to enhance the lives of the youth, their families, and the greater community. Their program is built on three core principles: long-term engagement, outdoor adventure and experiential education programming, and goal setting with a focus on future planning.

The City Kids Journey begins in sixth grade and continues through middle school, high school, and beyond. Participants engage in a variety of activities that broaden their horizons and develop important life skills. The program has had a significant impact, with 96 percent of participants graduating from high school and 82 percent enrolling in college or vocational training.

City Kids also offers summer camps, high school programs, and opportunities for alumni to stay connected. Through their efforts, they aim to build resilience, broaden horizons, and ensure skills for success among youth.
