## Description

The Civil Society Technology Foundation is an organization focused on empowering communities through open technology. It believes communities should be able to shape their digital futures and keep control of their data, governance, and infrastructure. The foundation is developing Wild Cloud, self-managed infrastructure management software that enables communities and organizations to set up and operate their own cloud infrastructure. It aims to make this simpler and substantially less expensive than using centralized cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. The foundation also curates Wild Directory, a collection of community-oriented open-source applications designed for straightforward deployment on Wild Cloud. Alongside these projects, the organization shares articles, learning resources, and case studies on community-owned technology, cooperative platforms, civic technology, and participatory democracy. Its examples include Decidim, Social.coop, and the Drivers Cooperative, which illustrate how communities and workers can build and govern digital services together. Through its projects and educational work, the foundation seeks to help communities of all sizes develop technology that serves their needs and strengthens collective self-determination.
