## Description

The Centre of Cognitive Ethology is a research group focused on how animals recognize and respond to danger. Based at the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia, in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, the centre studies animal behaviour and ecology through field and laboratory research. Its research topics include predator recognition, nest defence, birds as predators or prey, warning colours in aposematic prey, camouflage and search images, rival interactions, corvids, bioacoustics, urban bird ecology, and research in Svalbard. The centre shares its work through scientific papers, theses, conference participation, and popular science. It also offers information about available thesis topics and supports academic engagement through classes and public events. Visitors can explore staff profiles, research projects, publications, field experiments, laboratory experiments, international stays, and photographs of the working group. The centre connects research, teaching, and public communication to advance understanding of how animals perceive threats and navigate their environments.
