## Description

CLADS, the Chew Lake Association of Disabled Sailors, is a registered charity established in 1991 by two sailors from the main sailing club at Chew Lake, near Bristol. It supports disabled people to enjoy sailing and has grown over the years to include more members, helpers, boats and facilities. The association generally sails on Saturdays from late April to early October, with seasonal dates announced each year.

CLADS offers opportunities to join as a sailor or volunteer helper. Its helpers support activities both onshore and on the water. Onshore assistance includes preparing boats, packing them away and helping sailors get in and out. Offshore helpers accompany sailors in accessible dinghies and provide assistance when needed. Sailing experience is useful for offshore work, but the association can provide training; no sailing experience is required for onshore support.

Based at Chew Valley Lake, CLADS welcomes people interested in participating or helping to make its sailing activities possible.
