## Description

Claire Malet is a sculptor and silversmith who creates objects from recycled precious and non-precious metals, alongside found materials. Her practice is guided by an effort to work in ways that are as environmentally and ethically responsible as possible. The materials she uses bring an attentive, resource-conscious approach to making, while her work is presented through a portfolio of sculptural and silversmithing pieces.

The Claire Malet website provides an overview of her practice, with sections devoted to her portfolio, exhibitions, galleries and collaborations. Visitors can also explore her shop and find information about her biography, environmental and ethical commitments, news and contact details. The site’s reference to the natural world, including a passage by Nan Shepherd about the elements and life of a mountain, offers context for the landscape-minded perspective accompanying Malet’s work. Through her creative practice and online presence, Claire Malet shares her objects, professional activities and approach to materials with audiences interested in sculpture and silversmithing.
