## Description

Blackstone Life Sciences (BXLS) is the life sciences business of Blackstone, focused on helping bring important medicines and medical technologies to market and improving patient outcomes. It works with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology companies to advance promising products, particularly those in late-stage development that need funding and expertise to progress toward patients.

BXLS combines clinical, commercial and operational experience with Blackstone’s capital, global network and infrastructure. Its work includes designing, funding and executing clinical trials, supporting product development, and forming or growing companies around promising clinical assets. The team takes an active role in selecting and advancing investments, with a focus on products that address unmet medical needs.

Examples include funding Moderna’s influenza mRNA vaccine program, a strategic collaboration with Alnylam involving inclisiran, and the creation of Anthos Therapeutics with Novartis to develop therapies for high-risk cardiovascular patients. BXLS says its team has experience associated with bringing more than 200 medicines to market across 13 therapeutic areas.
