## Description

Class Credit Fund is a 501(c)(3) Scholarship Granting Organization that helps schools and individual donors direct federal tax payments toward K–12 scholarships through the Education Freedom Tax Credit. The program is scheduled to begin January 1, 2027, subject to final Treasury rules and participation by each state. Eligible donors may contribute up to $1,700 per taxpayer, or $3,400 for married couples filing jointly, and claim a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit; unused credit may carry forward for up to five years.

The fund works with schools to organize campaigns for current and alumni families, verify student eligibility, manage applications and reporting, and pay scholarships directly to schools. Individual donors can check their potential credit, give online, and receive a tax receipt, with optional W-4 assistance. Scholarships are intended for income-verified K–12 students in participating states whose households earn up to 300% of area median income. Funds may support tuition, tutoring, books, and other educational needs.
