## Description

Classic Lightweights is the premier online destination dedicated to the history of British bespoke bicycles and components. Originally launched in 2001 as "Cambridge Lightweight News," the platform has evolved into a rich archive that celebrates the golden age of British handmade bicycle-building, particularly from the mid-1940s to the 1970s. Founded by Peter Underwood and supported by his wife Patricia, the site features an array of engaging content including stories, photo galleries, and first-hand accounts from enthusiasts and collectors around the world.

With over two million visitors from 200 countries, Classic Lightweights offers insightful articles on renowned builders, various components, and cycling events that have shaped the community. Now under the stewardship of Chater-Lea since 2020, Classic Lightweights aims to modernize the experience while preserving its extensive repository. The site continues to foster a vibrant community with events, reader contributions, and an ongoing commitment to share the passion for classic cycling. Join us in celebrating this unique aspect of cycling history!
