Community Legal Centres Australia is the national representative voice for the community legal sector. As an independent, non-profit organization, our aim is to support the community legal sector in providing high-quality, free, and accessible legal and related services to everyday people. We especially focus on assisting those who experience financial hardship, discrimination, disadvantage, domestic or family violence. Our mission is to be leaders in good practice, advocate for justice and the promotion of human rights, be responsive to the needs of the community legal sector, and strengthen collaborative networks. We have 154 member organizations, including community legal centers, women’s legal services, Family Violence Prevention Legal Services, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services operating across the entire country. Our goal is to create a fair and equitable society where everyone has access to justice, lives free from discrimination and violence, and where the rights of First Nations people and the environment are respected and protected. We rely on the experiences and stories of the 200,000 people we serve annually to drive our advocacy and progressive system reform.
