## Description

LINDA is a solar-powered, AI-driven early-warning system developed by Cleampact to help community health workers in Kenya prepare for climate-driven disease before cases surge. Its sensor measures local temperature and humidity, then combines these readings with historical malaria patterns to estimate rising transmission risk. The system sends alerts by SMS or WhatsApp, including a risk level, priority households and recommended preventive actions. Designed to work on basic phones over 2G, LINDA supports targeted household visits, prevention education, referrals and locally available interventions.

For malaria, alerts can provide a two-to-six-week lead time, helping health workers prioritize groups such as children under five and pregnant women, and support measures including bed-net distribution and preventive medicines. LINDA is also developing early-warning capabilities for heat stress, respiratory disease and cholera or diarrhoeal disease. The initiative works with county governments, health systems, NGOs, malaria programmes, researchers and funders on deployment, implementation, validation and research partnerships.
