## Description

Clean Break is a women's theatre company that was founded in 1979 by two women who were incarcerated. They strongly believe in the transformative power of theatre in changing lives. The main focus of Clean Break is to keep the issue of women in prison in the public eye and to shed light on the injustices of the criminal justice system. Through their groundbreaking plays, Clean Break raises difficult questions, encourages debates, and facilitates positive change in the lives of women who have experience with the criminal justice system. They also offer theatre workshops and projects in prisons and the community to build confidence, resilience, and well-being. Clean Break's Members Programme is available to women aged 18 and above, providing comprehensive support, workshops, and performance opportunities led by esteemed female theatre artists. Their ultimate vision is to create a society where women can unleash their full potential without facing criminalization.
