CleanPlate is an independent service that makes official restaurant health-inspection data easier to find and understand. It lets people search for restaurants by name or nearby location and view their latest reported health grade or inspection result. The service covers more than 400,000 restaurants across 234 cities in 25 states, with no sign-up required.

CleanPlate gathers inspection records directly from city, county, and state health departments, names and links to its government sources, and does not rely on reviews or opinions. When an agency does not issue a letter grade, CleanPlate identifies any derived status rather than presenting it as an official grade.
