Clean Water Legacy is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to protecting water for future generations in western South Dakota, within Lakota Treaty Territory under the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868. Its mission is to safeguard a legacy of pure surface and groundwater through research and education. The organization works to inform and involve the public in issues related to water use, allocation, and quality, and to provide a forum for water planning that supports a plentiful, clean water supply in South Dakota. It also encourages servant leadership among people of all ages and backgrounds to help address future water needs.
