## Description

Clear Skies Observing Guides (CSOG) is a resource for amateur astronomers and visual observers, focused on making deep-sky observing more accessible and rewarding. The site offers guides covering thousands of deep-sky objects, alongside dedicated material on carbon stars and double stars. Its observing resources are paired with AstroPlanner planfiles and tours, helping users organize targets and plan sessions.

CSOG also documents practical observing experiences through a substantial observing log, with entries spanning many years and sessions from backyard locations and observing sites in France and Germany. The log includes observations of carbon stars, open and globular clusters, nebulae, planetary nebulae, supernova remnants, galaxies, and double stars. Readers can explore observing sessions by date and review the site’s latest updates, observing blog, and newsletter. Additional features include astronomy and observing sections, social media links, and contact information. Combining object guides, planning materials, and first-hand session records, CSOG serves as an informative companion for stargazers looking to prepare for and learn from visual astronomy.
