About

Description

The Cleveland Cord Blood Center (CCBC) is a renowned brand and not-for-profit organization that is a leader in the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of high-quality cord blood stem cell units for transplantation. With a mission to serve the unmet needs of a diverse population, CCBC focuses on patients with life-threatening disorders such as leukemia, lymphoma, and immune system disorders. Established in 2008 by Dr.

Mary J. Laughlin, who performed one of the world's first successful umbilical cord blood stem cell transplants in 1995, CCBC has become one of only eight FDA-approved cord blood centers in the United States. The center is actively engaged in groundbreaking research, exploring the untapped potential of umbilical cord blood as a cell therapy treatment for various conditions, including Parkinson's disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and wound healing issues.

To further its mission, CCBC has established two nonprofit social enterprise subsidiaries - the Cleveland Cell Therapy Incubator (CCTI) and Advanced Immune Cellular Therapy (AICT). These subsidiaries enable the center to develop advanced cellular therapies and provide access to additional sources of funding. By fostering greater awareness of the life-giving and lifesaving potential of cord blood stem cells, CCBC is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of patients in need
