## Description

Clever Surfboards is a Florida surfboard brand shaped and designed by Jay Smith in New Smyrna Beach. A former professional surfer, Smith draws on his experience and feedback from customers and team riders to refine boards for different abilities, wave conditions, and surfing styles. The brand emphasizes carefully considered rocker, foil, bottom contours, outlines, and rails, alongside lightweight, durable construction. Boards are made with EPS and epoxy, in stringerless or wood-stringer configurations; selected models also offer other construction options.

Clever’s range spans beginner-friendly and performance shortboards, including the Grominator, Jet, Trooper, J-Bird, Fish Jet, Ambush, and Speedster. Fish, hybrid, fun-shape, and longboard designs provide options for small waves, everyday surfing, and more advanced conditions. The lineup also includes the Fisher Grant longboard and an all-around stand-up paddleboard suited to flatwater cruising and small waves. Fin setups and tail designs vary by model, and custom artwork is available for SUP boards, including yoga boards. Clever Surfboards are manufactured at Halifax Glassing and sold through surf shops and dealers.
