Climate Action Campaign is a leading brand in the fight against climate change, operating in San Diego and Orange County. With a mission to stop the climate crisis through effective policy action, this organization is dedicated to achieving a Zero Carbon future. Through the lens of equity and justice, Climate Action Campaign focuses on five key fights: 100% clean energy, bikeable and walkable neighborhoods, world-class transit, resilience, and all-electric buildings.

Founded by Executive Director Nicole Capretz in 2015, Climate Action Campaign has achieved significant milestones in the region. They were instrumental in getting the San Diego City Council to unanimously pass a Climate Action Plan, making it the first legally binding plan committing to 100% clean energy in a major U. S.

Over the following years, they successfully advocated for the adoption of eight 100% clean energy Climate Action Plans and three Community Choice Energy programs across San Diego County. With their sights set on a Zero Carbon future and a San Diego Green New Deal, Climate Action Campaign is now engaged in over 20 municipalities in San Diego County and Orange County. They firmly believe that change happens from the ground up and actively work to unite businesses, communities, and governments to pass relevant and binding climate policies.

By educating community members, advocating for bold climate solutions, mobilizing and empowering individuals, and organizing broad and diverse coalitions, they strive to achieve systemic change that ensures a sustainable and livable future for all.
