Climate Gathering is a brand that specializes in creative climate conversations in Ireland. Initially known as the Western World Convention, the project was developed by Green Foundation Ireland in collaboration with a group of Irish climate policy experts. Their aim was to assess whether Ireland could serve as a gathering place for a diverse network of leaders addressing the climate challenge.

The project has been generously funded by the Tony Ryan Trust, a philanthropic foundation established by the founder of Ryanair, Europe's largest airline. Green Foundation Ireland, affiliated with the Green European Foundation (GEF), is dedicated to promoting green cultural change. They work alongside other European Green Foundations, including Grüne Bildungswerkstatt (Austria), Oikos Foundation (Belgium), Heinrich Böll Foundation (Germany), Alexander Langer Foundation (Italy), and Cogito Foundation (Sweden).

Climate Gathering has an advisory board consisting of esteemed members such as Dr. Colin Brown, Peter Cassells, Prof. Frank Convery, Sandy Dunlop, Brendan Hanifin, Thomas Legge, Turlough O'Donnell, and Eamon Ryan.
