## Description

**Brand Description: Climate Policy Database**

The Climate Policy Database, managed by NewClimate Institute in collaboration with Wageningen University and PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, serves as a vital resource for information on climate mitigation policies worldwide. This comprehensive database gathers and benchmarks national policies against a structured matrix aimed at mitigating climate change effects. Periodically updated, it features policies adopted across 42 major economies, providing insights into their strategies and goals. The database notably excludes planned policies, focusing instead on enacted measures and targets such as Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs).

This initiative promotes an open platform for collaboration and continuous improvement, inviting feedback to enhance the database's effectiveness. Funded by the European Union’s H2020 project ELEVATE, the database also offers a Python API for seamless access to its latest data. By fostering transparency and engagement in climate policy analysis, the Climate Policy Database supports global efforts to address climate change impacts strategically.
