## Description

Climbing for All is a teen volunteer-run recreational organization making indoor rock climbing more accessible to children in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area. It offers free, one-hour meetups for youth ages 6 to 18 who have disabilities or limited resources, giving them the opportunity to climb alongside teen volunteers from competitive youth climbing teams. The program welcomes children with physical and intellectual disabilities, including developmental disabilities such as ADHD, OCD, and autism spectrum disorder.

Meetups take place at indoor climbing gyms around Charlotte. Climbing for All covers participants’ gym entry fees and equipment rentals, with scheduling based on availability; families may be placed on a waiting list when no volunteer spots are open. The organization is recreational, not a climbing instruction or training program. A guardian must stay for the entire meetup, oversee the child’s safety, and complete the gym’s required waivers and orientation. Because local gyms do not yet have adaptive climbing equipment, families are encouraged to review the gym’s introductory videos to assess whether the experience is suitable for their child. Interested families can contact the organization by email, text, or its online form.
