## Description

ClimOP is an EU-funded project focused on identifying practical ways to reduce aviation’s climate impact. Its work examines how changes to aviation operations could support a more sustainable aeronautic industry and contribute to Flightpath 2050 goals, including a 75% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 90% reduction in NOx emissions. The project organizes its activities around selecting operational improvements, assessing their climate effects, evaluating consequences for aviation stakeholders, identifying harmonized and promising mitigation strategies, and developing policy recommendations to encourage their adoption. ClimOP emphasizes stakeholder needs, involving key aviation industry players so that proposed measures are relevant and feasible for the sector. Its approach combines a review of existing research with iterative development, consultation to validate emerging results, and the production of mitigation strategies. The project also applies a six-step methodology with an iterative validation process, designed to connect its findings with the sectors that could use them. Rather than selling products or services, ClimOP produces research, assessments, strategies, and policy guidance for more climate-conscious aviation.
