## Description

Close the Gap Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for first-generation and low-income students. Its mission is to help students reach their potential and build lifelong confidence through structured mentorship, project-based learning, and scholarships. The foundation reports reaching more than one million students, distributing $100,000 in scholarships and laptops, and coordinating 50,000 volunteer hours.

Its programs are free to eligible low-income students, including those receiving free or reduced-price school meals or Federal Pell Grants. The Social Impact Fellowship offers high school students a summer mentorship experience focused on confidence and growth. The Forbes Under 30 Mentorship program pairs students with Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees. The foundation also provides scholarships and laptops to support students’ learning and access to opportunity.

Through its programs, volunteer opportunities, partnerships, and educational resources, Close the Gap connects students with mentors, practical learning experiences, and support for their academic and career journeys. The organization accepts donations and shares impact updates, media resources, and guidance through its website.
