## Description

Clout is an organization championing South African design, craftsmanship and creative expression. Its vision is to establish the industry as a distinctive global design brand, bringing together the country’s heritage, craft and storytelling with contemporary making techniques. By promoting local designers and makers, Clout aims to direct investment into South Africa’s creative communities. Founded in 2018, the organization reports working with more than 70 South African designers and selling 75,000 pieces, with a global export reach.

Clout showcases a broad range of locally designed products, including furniture, lighting, textiles, rugs and decorative objects. Its community features independent studios and designers whose work draws on African heritage, sustainability, material innovation and contemporary craft. The organization also designs and curates creative environments and retail activations. Projects include meeting and office spaces in Johannesburg and Cape Town, as well as nationwide pop-ups featuring South African products and makers. Across its work, Clout connects design with place and cultural storytelling, presenting local creativity in functional products and thoughtfully composed spaces.
