## Description

Clube de Orientação e Aventura (COA) is a sports and leisure club based in Abrantes, Portugal. Founded on 21 July 2004 by friends who shared a passion for orienteering, it has grown to around one hundred athletes. Members take part in orienteering, trail running and SwimRun, with regular participation in national circuits and Portuguese Cup competitions. The club’s activities also include mountain biking orienteering, adventure racing and walking.

Alongside supporting competitive sport, COA has a longstanding role in organising sporting and leisure events, including orienteering activities, challenges, trail running, SwimRun and walks. It works with local authorities, businesses, schools and other public and private organisations. Events are coordinated by experienced members with backgrounds in areas such as orienteering, cartography, course planning and physical education.

Youth development is another focus. Through Ori-Educa, launched in 2020, the club promotes orienteering and active lifestyles, particularly in school communities. Its Academia Corvus, established in 2021, helps young people develop physical and mental skills for the club’s sports in a fun setting outside school.
