## Description

Calne Music & Arts Festival is a registered charity that brings a ten-day celebration of music and the arts to Calne, Wiltshire, each October. Founded in 1974, the volunteer-led festival aims to make the arts accessible to people in Calne and surrounding villages while promoting local and regional creative talent. Its programme combines performances, concerts, exhibitions, talks and workshops, welcoming both community participants and visiting artists.

Events span classical music, opera, choral and folk performances, as well as drama, poetry and literature. The annual Open Art Exhibition, hosted at Marden House and other local venues, showcases predominantly local artists; recent exhibitions have featured more than 300 works, many available to buy. The festival also offers a Family Day and a range of events for different interests and ages.

Visitors can purchase tickets for performances and join the mailing list for festival updates. Supporters may become Festival Friends for an annual fee, receiving programme mailings, a free lunchtime concert, reduced ticket prices and invitations to selected events.
