The Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy (CMHLP) is a not-for-profit organization based in Pune, India. Founded in 2007, our mission is to strengthen and transform mental health in communities to promote holistic well-being. We envision a just and equitable world by enhancing communities' capabilities for mental health and well-being.

At CMHLP, we work with various stakeholders, including policymakers, mental health professionals, researchers, civil society organizations, persons with lived experience, and the media. Our approach is rights-based, aiming to bring evidence-based policy reform and implementation for mental health and suicide prevention. We focus on seven strategic themes: Law & Policy Reform, Community-based Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Strengthening Health Systems, Peer Support, Youth Mental Health, and Training & Education.

Through our projects, we promote innovative and sustainable solutions to improve mental health and social outcomes. Additionally, we offer courses, resources, and blogs to build capacity and knowledge, advocating for mental health for all. Join us in creating positive change and promoting mental well-being.
