CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is a renowned Finnish organization dedicated to preventing and resolving violent conflicts through informal dialogue and mediation. Established in 2000 by Nobel Peace Laureate and former President of Finland, Martti Ahtisaari, CMI has become a leader in the field of international peacemaking. With over 100 international experts and over 300 global partners, we have successfully advanced more than 50 peace processes in regions including the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eurasia, and Asia.

Our headquarters is based in Helsinki, and we have an office in Brussels, with a presence in over 20 countries. By developing innovative solutions, CMI aims to overcome the issues that hinder peace processes, as we firmly believe in people's capacity to pursue peaceful change. With a service-based approach rooted in deep expertise and contextual understanding, we offer mediation and dialogue, acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders committed to resolving conflicts peacefully.

Additionally, we actively shape international and regional peacemaking policies. Prioritizing Women in Peacemaking and Digital Peacemaking, CMI is dedicated to inclusive conflict resolution and leveraging technology for improved mediation practice. We collaborate closely with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and various governments, regional organizations, and international entities.
