The Centre for Media and Information Literacy (CMIL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Critical Media and Information Consumption among people of all ages. We strive to empower citizens to effectively tackle misinformation and manipulate narratives by making informed decisions when exercising their democratic rights. Our programs are designed to address the challenges posed by rapid technological advancements and the changing socio-economic and political landscape in Sri Lanka. The Advance Digital Media Education and Information Literacy (ADMEL) program focuses on educating individuals about digital media and information literacy, while the Advocating for Critical Thinking (ACT) program aims to restore public trust and accountability in the media. Additionally, our Research for Innovation and Strategic Enhancement (RISE) program conducts vital research on how media influences public mindset and governance accountability. Join us in our mission to promote media literacy and combat information falsehoods for a healthier democracy.
