## Description

The Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) is a national society for individuals and organisations working to advance meteorology, oceanography and related environmental disciplines in Canada. It supports the development and visibility of these fields by connecting members through regional centres, activities, meetings and a calendar of talks and other events. The Society also provides information about membership, including application, registration, qualifying requirements and eligibility, and shares career opportunities, insights and resources. Its education initiatives and programs for early-career scientists contribute to professional learning and engagement. CMOS offers publications and hosts a congress, providing additional ways for people interested in atmospheric and oceanic sciences to access information and participate in the community. Donations help fund scholarships and projects that strengthen the Society’s influence and visibility. Its website also features news, committee and council meeting information, and details about special events, including science-policy gatherings. Based in Ottawa, CMOS serves as a hub for people and organisations committed to advancing knowledge and professional connections in meteorology and oceanography across Canada.
