## Description

CMTA, also known as The Capital Markets and Technology Association, is an independent association that brings together key players from Switzerland's financial, technological, and legal sectors. Their mission is to establish common standards for the issuance, distribution, and trading of securities in the form of tokens using distributed ledger technology (DLT), such as blockchain. In collaboration with leading organizations like Lenz & Staehelin, Swissquote Bank Ltd, Temenos AG, and EPFL, CMTA aims to promote the adoption of DLT in capital markets. They believe that DLT, particularly blockchain, has the potential to simplify financing for companies and democratize access to financial markets. By defining industry standards, facilitating the adoption of technology, and promoting transparency and reliability, CMTA seeks to enable companies, investors, and financial intermediaries to leverage the full potential of DLT. They focus on traditional capital market instruments like equity and debt securities, transforming them into digital tokens. To achieve this, CMTA adopts standards, systematizes good practices, and collaborates at the regulatory, accounting, and technical levels. With an unwavering commitment to promoting innovation and addressing the challenges of the digital era, CMTA is at the forefront of shaping the future of capital markets.
