## Description

The Citizens’ Nuclear Information Center (CNIC) is a Japan-based organization working toward a society that does not rely on nuclear power. Independent of the nuclear industry, it takes a public-interest perspective, collecting information and conducting research on the risks and impacts of nuclear activities. CNIC shares its findings in formats intended to support civic action in Japan and around the world, and makes policy recommendations.

Its work covers nuclear power plant safety and accidents, radiation exposure, the nuclear fuel cycle, radioactive waste, energy policy, and international affairs. The center publishes reports, fact checks, downloadable materials, newsletters, guides, and books, including titles on the Fukushima Daiichi accident and the challenges of nuclear waste. It also provides educational resources, videos, an archive, and information on radiation measurements. Through public events, lectures, and webinars, CNIC encourages informed discussion and engagement. Visitors can access its online bookstore, request publications, become members, or support the organization through donations and contributions, including a used-book donation program.
