## Description

CNREE, the National Center for Electrical and Electronic Recycling Association, is a Romanian organization supporting the responsible management and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) from households and industry. It works with producers, partners and communities to promote effective collection, traceability and recycling, guided by European legislation and standards. The association offers services and information for businesses, including support with producer responsibility, registration of electrical and electronic equipment producers, WEEE classification guidance, tariffs and reporting. It also provides channels to request WEEE collection and collection containers, and invites organizations to become partners. CNREE emphasizes responsible environmental practices, professional business relationships and fair, transparent pricing. Its projects and public communications aim to encourage recycling and environmental awareness. The association has also launched OPTIMUS PRIME, a WEEE traceability platform developed with Anthropic and Claude Opus 4.7. According to CNREE, the AI-assisted platform helps speed up verification and achieves accuracy above 95%. Through its operational support, partnerships and outreach, CNREE works to strengthen responsible electronics recycling in Romania.
