## Description

Cocheurs.fr is a nature-observation community platform focused on recording and comparing wildlife sightings. It brings together enthusiasts who track species across a broad range of groups, including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish, orchids and other plants. Members can explore year lists, regional and local rankings, self-found records, garden lists and species checklists, with options covering France, its regions and locations across the Western Palearctic and beyond.

The site also supports friendly challenges, including Big Day events and other themed competitions. Its 2026 Global BigDay, for example, invites teams to record multiple wildlife groups during a 24-hour, zero-carbon challenge, with motorised transport prohibited. Alongside listing and ranking tools, Cocheurs.fr publishes wildlife news, articles and interviews, shares member photographs, and provides information about competition rules, trophies and community participation. Visitors can browse recent observations and updates, while registered members can contribute to lists and take part in activities. Overall, the platform offers wildlife record-keepers a place to document sightings, follow others’ achievements and enjoy nature-focused challenges.
