## Description

Cocinando con Rita is the culinary and cultural platform of Rita Sánchez, a Mexican gastronomy advocate, culinary adviser, and travel experience creator based in Madrid. Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Rita shares the traditions and stories behind Mexican food, drawing on more than three decades of work introducing its richness to Spain and Europe. In 1998, she and Efrén founded Taquería del Alamillo, a restaurant that became a reference point for Mexican cuisine in Spain; they sold the brand in 2011. They also opened Canasta Mexicana in 2001, described as Europe’s first specialist Mexican food store, bringing more than 350 authentic ingredients to the market before it closed in 2014. Today, the site offers recipes, reflections on food and cultural identity, and guidance for finding Mexican ingredients in different countries. Rita also invites readers to explore Mexico through travel experiences focused on its people, ancestral cuisine, and living traditions. The brand celebrates Mexican heritage and helps readers discover, prepare, and appreciate its distinctive flavors.
